Default Rear Stand 43mm only

I saw on the motowheels site that some 1098 from 2007 have an axle which allows for 43mm pin to work on both sides.
Well, that is my 1098, which currently is great because I had an MV Agusta so that stand works but doesn't have wheels so I replaced it with T-Rex since my bike isn't on stands long but the pin they sent was the 41mm one; however, their listing states I should get two. I'm sure they will rectify it.

So this begs the question, why do some models have 43mm on both sides and why wouldn't you want 43mm on both sides? It is less material, easier to buy a stand, etc.

This has come up before. My theory is that someone must have twisted a rear axle on an early bike, so they left a bit more material on the axle on the drive side on subsequent models.
As you noted, the larger pin fits the MV. You should have got both pins when you bought the stand.
Blame either the massive torque of the Ducati, or some twit trying to do a burnout when they first came out..

P.S. I think the size change was about May 2007.

my T-rex stand came with 2.... one was attached to the stand along the handle as a smaller diameter for the chain side. the larger one was in place already for the non-chain side. I don't know what size they are because... well... I don't care to measure it lol. it works fine for me . check your stand for another attachment.... if you already have and there isn't one, call up T-Rex racing, they're pretty cool guys and great customer service.

I worked with T-Rex yesterday and we think we have it sorted. They used to send pin 6 and 7 but have started only sending an elongated pin 6 (100mm length). Supposedly pin 6 is 42.5mm but mine measured at nearly 41mm. We talked about pin numbers for a while and then I said, just send me something between 42.5 and 43mm and we are good so they agreed. If I have to dremel it down a bit or hand sand it a little, I'm cool with that.
