NGK. MAR10A-J.
Identical to standard spare part - half the price. In yellow NGK box instead of red Ducati box. Saves $60 in Australia..

i contacted ngk by email and they said they dont support the 1198

Then you got in touch with someone who was ignorant (lack-of-knowledge), and couldn't be bothered to do the research. The 848 , all 1098's (including the "R") , and all 1198's use the NGK (MAR10A-J) plug referred to by Pat.

Did you have to gap it, or was it properly gapped out of the box?

Gap checked good "out-of-the-box" for me. It would be a chore to adjust the gap on this type of plug, so it may be "pre-set" for all applications.

I purchased a set of these but was afraid they would not fit because the socket needed is larger then the NGK or Champion stock plugs. What did you use to install these, apparently I don't have the right tools needed. Thanks
